Drawing on over 30 years in Texas law enforcement and criminal investigations, Michael Keck shares professional perspectives from his tenure with the TDCJ Office of the Inspector General — covering felony-level crimes, public corruption, death investigations, major employee misconduct, and fugitive apprehension within complex state agency environments. Attendees will gain practical takeaways directly applicable to private sector investigative practice.
Michael Keck is a veteran Texas law enforcement professional with over 30 years of experience across law enforcement, criminal investigations, and police training. Beginning his career in 1985 with the Hunt County Sheriff's Department under the mentorship of Major Richard Hill, he later served from 1990 to 2017 with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) as a Senior District Parole Officer and Investigator with the Office of the Inspector General (OIG).
His investigative career centered on felony-level crimes, public corruption, death investigations, major employee misconduct, and fugitive apprehension within complex state agency environments. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from East Texas State University and credentials as a Master Peace Officer, TCOLE-certified instructor, Sex Assault and Family Violence Investigator, and Force Science Analyst.
He currently serves as a Coordinator and Adjunct Instructor at the Dallas College Law Enforcement Academy. Drawing on his extensive background with TDCJ-OIG, Michael shares professional perspectives from state-level criminal investigations and key takeaways for private investigators.

Members receive documentation of attendance for license renewal purposes.
